Hebrew media reported that the municipality of the occupation entity in occupied Jerusalem requested the demolition of the new Golden Dome mosque, which is located in the town of Beit Safafa, southeast of the occupied city of Jerusalem.
Sputnik, quoting the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, reported that the Jerusalem municipality submitted a petition to the local court in the city to demolish an Islamic complex in the town of Beit Safafa that includes a mosque topped with a golden dome, claiming that it resembles the Dome of the Rock inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The newspaper pointed out that the Jerusalem municipality was subjected to great pressure from the extremist right-wing organizations to demand the demolition of the entire Islamic building, and not only the golden dome, claiming that the dome was set up to be another source of violence in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
