Pakistan: Approval of Quran recitation and salutation to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in the morning program of Punjab schools
The parliament of the Pakistani state of Punjab has approved a project to recite the Noble Quran and salute the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, before the national anthem is played in the morning program of state schools.
Pakistani Muslim scholars commended the approval of the Punjab State Assembly on this project, and affirmed in a joint statement, “The measures taken by the Punjab State Assembly, headed by Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, to spread the teachings of the Noble Quran and the Prophet’s biography are unprecedented.”
“Such measures are historic and exemplary for future generations in all respects and this decision must be implemented immediately,” said the statement issued by a number of Pakistani scholars.
It should be noted that Quranic activities and events have an important and prestigious position in the Punjab province of Pakistan, where a team of 20 civil judges and their representatives recently visited more than 1,500 public and private schools in Rawalpindi, in order to evaluate the process of teaching and teaching the Quran in schools in this region.
