Extremists attack Shia mosque in Brazil and burn pages of the Holy Quran


The Imam Ali Mosque in the Brazilian city of Ponta Grossa was attacked by extremists who burned a copy of the Holy Quran and caused damage to the mosque’s walls.
The mosque’s administration said in an official statement, “It is with great regret and sadness that we inform our brothers and sisters in society that our dear mosque was attacked by vandals and heretics in the early hours of Friday.”
The mosque administration added, “This heinous crime not only affected the converts to Islam; it affected all other religions as well, because they desecrated the words and the House of God Almighty.”
While the Brazilian website (arede) said, “The perpetrators of the crime entered the mosque through the side door, which was found broken.”
It explained that “in addition to burning a copy of the Holy Quran, they set fire to a hanging picture on which Islamic phrases were written.”
