Ban on Shiism in Chechnya deprives lovers of Ahlulbayt from performing their rituals

Media outlets reported that the followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation are in a very difficult situation, after the head of the Spiritual Department of Muslims in the country issued a fatwa prohibiting Shiism.
The head of the Spiritual Department of the Muslims of Chechnya, Salakh Mudhaif, said earlier that there would be no Islamic sects present in Chechnya except for Sunni Islam.
A media outlet said, “This fatwa deprived many Shias in the country from performing their religious ceremonies and rituals.”
It indicated that Mudhaif called for the eradication of any Shia literature in the country so that Sunnis would not see it, claiming that it confuses them, especially the young ones.
It also noted that “This fatwa also affected the Shias in the Republic of Ingushetia, where extremists launched an attack three years ago on a house where Shia Muslims held their religious ceremonies.”
