UN and US envoys in Muscat to discuss ceasefire in Yemen


The Omani Foreign Minister, Badr al-Busaidi, met in Muscat with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.
The Oman News Agency stated, “During the meeting, views were exchanged on the endeavors to secure a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire by all parties, facilitate the flow of humanitarian supplies, and engage in a political process that achieves the aspirations of the Yemeni people towards security, stability, national unity and reconstruction.”
According to the agency, the US envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, reviewed with the Omani Foreign Minister “the latest developments on the Yemeni arena, and the efforts made to end the war in Yemen.”
The Sultanate of Oman, which hosts the head of the Yemeni negotiating delegation, Muhammad Abdul Salam, plays a mediating role to stop the war on Yemen.
