Hunger strike renewed in Jaw prison in Bahrain


Prisoners in the notorious Jaw prison in Bahrain announced their entry into an open hunger strike to protest the deteriorating conditions and ill-treatment inside the prison.
Sada al-Bahrain website stated that the prisoners in Building 17 announced the strike in protest against the poor quality of food served to them, and the lack of sincerity of the prison administration in its promises to prisoners to open the door for visits.
According to the prisoners, the prison administration promised to open visits on condition that the prisoners are vaccinated, but it did not fulfill its promises.
The prisoners declared a hunger strike until their conditions were improved and visits were opened.
It is noteworthy that Jaw Prison witnessed hunger strikes several times in protest against the poor services, deteriorating health situation and ill-treatment.
