Crowds of believers participate in the ritual of Zanjeel in remembrance of the Ashura tragedy in Karbala

This morning, the holy city of Karbala witnessed the gathering of many mourning processions for the ritual of Zanjeel, in commemoration of martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Huge crowds of followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, from inside and outside Iraq, participated in Zanjeel mourning processions in the streets of the holy city.
The mourners indicated that they bleed their bodies in remembrance of the painful calamities that befell the family of the Prophet, peace be upon them, on the day of Ashura, stressing their continuation in reviving the holy Husseini rituals.
It is noteworthy that the holy city of Karbala witnesses every year, during the first ten days of the month of Muharram, the mourning processions of Zanjeel to commemorate the Ashura tragedy, while the countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and various countries of the world witness the mourning processions of Zanjeel on the tenth of Muharram.
