Pakistan’s President meets Iraqi Foreign Minister and the latter directs to facilitate the issuance of visas for Pakistanis


Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi stressed the need to expand and diversify bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iraq in various fields, while Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein directed the embassy to provide all facilities for issuing visas to Pakistanis wishing to visit Iraq.
President Alvi’s statements came during his meeting in his office in Islamabad today with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, who is on an official visit to Pakistan.
President Alvi said that his country attaches great importance to its friendly ties with Iraq, and reiterated Pakistan’s full support for Iraq’s sovereignty, political unity and territorial integrity.
He stated that Pakistan can help rebuild Iraq by providing skilled manpower, stressing the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.
For his part, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein affirmed that Iraq considers Pakistan an important country, and that it is keen to promote more bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially trade, defense and culture.
He expressed his thanks to the Pakistani government for providing training for Iraqi diplomats, and said that he directed the Iraqi embassy in Islamabad to provide all facilities, including the issuance of visas for Pakistani visitors wishing to visit Iraq.
