Bahraini authorities restrict Ashura ceremonies

Bahraini press sources confirmed that the Bahraini security forces removed the Husseini banners from several towns, including al-Musalla, al-Sahla al-Janoubia, and al-Bilad al-Qadeem.
The sources stated that in the town of al-Musalla, the municipality workers, backed by security men, removed the Husseini banners from the town, and the same measures were repeated in the southern town of al-Sahla, where the security forces removed the Husseini banners hanging in the town’s roads.
The sources added that Building 5 in Jaw Prison witnessed a protest after the prison administration refused the revival of Ashura ceremonies.
The protest came after the notorious prison administration decided to cancel the Husseini ceremonies and prevent the prisoners from commemorating the Karbala tragedy.
The Bahraini authorities are launching a fierce campaign against the Husseini ceremonies in Bahraini towns as well as inside prisons.
