Saudi Arabia: Increasing the capacity of pilgrims to two million pilgrims per month


The Saudi authorities announced that they will gradually raise the capacity of pilgrims to reach two million pilgrims per month.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that it will start receiving requests for Umrah from various countries of the world gradually, starting from Monday, to perform the rituals of Umrah, visit and pray in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Ministry of Hajj indicated that it will start receiving pilgrims with a capacity of up to 60 thousand pilgrims distributed over 8 operational periods, until the capacity reaches 2 million pilgrims per month.
The ministry stated that the issuance of Umrah permits will be through the ‘Etemarna’ and ‘Tawakalna’ applications, amid an integrated system of preventive measures, in order to preserve the safety and health of those wishing to perform the rituals of Umrah.
