Afghan official: 900 people killed in Kandahar by Taliban terrorists within weeks
The former commander of the Afghan province of Kandahar police and a member of the Supreme Council for National Reconciliation, Tadin Khan, announced that between 800 and 900 people were killed by Taliban terrorists in the province in recent weeks.
“The Taliban knows nothing of human rights,” Afghan TV channel Tolo News quoted Tadin Khan as saying, adding that the death toll from the Taliban’s killings in the province during the past six weeks may reach 900.
The official explained that the militants forcibly removed the victims from their homes and killed them, and that the residents of the area had suffered greatly from the practices of the militants, while the atrocities committed in the Spin Boldak border district with Pakistan were an “unforgivable crime.”
Human Rights Watch had previously said that the militants of the movement, which continues its attack in several Afghan provinces, including Ghazni and Kandahar, carried out mass executions of military, police and civilians for allegedly being linked to the Afghan government.
