A statement issued by the Office of the President of the Council said that based on the request of the people of Samarra to lift the curfew, which has been in place for many years for security reasons, the Salahuddin Provincial Council decided by an absolute majority to cancel the curfew and facilitate access to the city to serve the public good.
The Council also voted by absolute majority to have an annual day for the martyrs of Salah al-Din on June 13 in honor of those who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.
