Coronavirus threatens the lives of prisoners of conscience in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi detainee, Zuhair Ali Sherida, died as a result of medical negligence after his infection with the Coronavirus worsened in al-Ha’ir Prison in Riyadh.
The “Prisoners of Conscience” account, concerned with political detainees in Saudi Arabia, confirmed the death of the detainee, Sherida, as a result of medical negligence, after his infection with the Coronavirus worsened in al-Ha’ir prison in Riyadh.
The ALQST Rights Organization accused the authorities of transferring the victim to the ward of prisoners infected with Coronavirus, which led to his infected and others prisoners, including activist Mohammed al-Qahtani.
The organization considered that Sherida’s death sheds light on the violations in the prisons of the Saudi regime.
The organization called on the authorities to open an investigation into the circumstances of the death of Zuhair Ali Sherida, and all deaths in custody.
Riyadh also urged once again the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience.
