Imam Hussein Media Group issued a statement commemorating the tragic demolition of the holy graves of al-Baqi.
The statement read:
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
“That is so. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah, it is certainly out of the piety of the heart. (Al-Hajj: 32)
We are living during these days of the holy month of Shawwal, the ninety-sixth anniversary of the greatest calamity that befell the followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and the entire Islamic nation, represented by the Wahhabi groups committing the crime of demolishing the graves of the Imams of al-Baqi, peace be upon them, without feeling ashamed of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, who recommended us to his honorable family and the Holy Book of God.
O believers and free people in all parts of the world,
Such a heinous crime against the purest of Islamic sanctities reflects nothing but ignorance and hatred of that oppressive group that attacked the pure graves of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and the companions of the noble Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, as well as the righteous women, under the pretext of the forbiddance of building graves.
Therefore, in commemoration of this painful occasion, the Imam Hussein Media Group affirms its solidarity with the calls of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi and all the free people in the world to commemorate the International Day of al-Baqi, and to remember this painful calamity, and to demand the United Nations, the international community and human rights organizations to consider the extent of this heinous act, in order to put pressure on government agencies in Saudi Arabia to rebuild the pure graves of Jannat al-Baqi and raise their flags and respect the sanctity and greatness of all Muslims.
It also affirms that it will strive, through its various media outlets, especially IHTV, to introduce this major issue to the world to know the extent of the crime and to draw attention to what the Wahhabi groups committed against Islamic sanctities.
