Shia Rights Watch calls on Saudi Arabia to rebuild the shrines of al-Baqi

Shia Rights Watch international organization called on Saudi Arabia to rebuild the shrines of al-Baqi.
In a statement received by Shia Waves, it stated, “The Shia Muslims commemorate on the eighth of Shawwal every year the painful memory of the demolition of al-Baqi Holy Shrines, which were demolished by Wahhabis last century.
The organization called on officials in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to work on rebuilding the holy shrines after achieving the intellectual openness that the Kingdom’s leadership calls for, noting that it has noticed during the recent period a commendable effort to secure public and private freedoms in terms of tolerance in matters of religions and worship, which represents a step to establish the rules of urbanization and cultural and intellectual urbanization.
It continued, “As everyone realizes that recent endeavors consistent with human rights standards in many aspects of social and internal affairs, allowing Shia citizens to secure their worship centers and religious shrines like their counterparts from other citizens represents an important achievement and development in terms of civil peace and social security that every country around the world seeks.”
