The United Nations called on the parties to the crisis in Yemen to remove unexploded ordnance in Hodeidah province, in accordance with the Sweden Agreement, which the two parties agreed upon in late 2018, after the killing of children in an explosion.
A statement issued by the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) said, “It was reported that 3 children were killed and two others were injured, including a woman, in an explosion in Al-Marawah district in Hodeidah last night.”
The statement added, “According to reports, the explosion occurred due to unexploded ordnance.”
The United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement expressed its readiness to provide support in removing the remnants of war in Yemen.
