Activists in France launched a fundraising campaign through social networking sites to purchase Qurans in Braille for the blind.
The campaign owners say that their goal this year exceeded last year’s figure, which was estimated at more than 26,000 euros, which resulted in the purchase of more than 136 Qurans.
The Paris Anglantine Association collects the donations and distributes the Qurans to the concerned people, who are estimated to number more than 2,600 people on the association’s waiting list.
Additionally, activists in Marseille announced the collection of more than 14 Qurans for the blind, and called for more donations to mosques in the region to help the blind.
The blind Muslim group in France suffers from a scarcity of Qurans written in Braille, especially as they consist of 7 parts and weigh more than 10 kilograms.
