The ruling regime in Bahrain continues to torture prisoners

The ruling regime in Bahrain continues a policy of systematic torture of activists and detained children.
Activist Ibtisam Al-Saegh reported on her Instagram account that the detainee Youssef Hassan Al-Dairi was severely beaten for his solidarity with Sheikh Zuhair Al-Ashour, who is a life-threatening prisoner in Jaw Prison.
The activist quoted Al-Dairi saying, “The peaceful protesters did not attack anyone and did not sabotage or destroy anything,” pointing out that the cameras recorded the peaceful sit-in as well as the barbaric assault by prison police.
The activist commented on these practices by saying, “Prisons are the institutions that implement the penalties issued by the courts, and their role is not to add or impose further punishment.”
On the same level, the family of prisoner of conscience, Osama al-Saghir, expressed their concern for their son after severely beating him and depriving him of contact by the administration of the Jaw Central Prison.
Bahraini prisons are known for the rampant practices of torture of activists, and the Qatar-owned Al-Jazeera satellite channel highlighted these practices in a program that devoted one of its episodes to the torture in Jaw Prison, according to the testimonies of 70 Bahraini prisoners.
