Karbala Operations Command launches large operation to secure the western desert up to the borders of Anbar

On Wednesday, the Karbala Operations Command announced the launch of a large-scale security operation to inspect desert areas down to the border areas with Anbar province.
The Command’s Media Director, Brigadier General Fahim Al-Kuraiti, said in a statement that the Karbala Operations Command, the Karbala Police Command, the 26th Brigade and the Federal Police launched a security operation to search the desert areas bordering Anbar province.
Al-Kuraiti added that the operation was launched from 6 axes and aims to secure areas west of Karbala, search and eliminate sleeper cells, in order to preserve the security and safety of the city and its people.
