International Criminal Court looking into the case of killing 300 Shias in the Zaria massacre

The International Criminal Court is looking into the mass killings in Nigeria in 2015, in which more than 300 Shia Muslims were massacred and buried in Zaria.
“A petition was signed calling on the International Criminal Court to prosecute the Inspector General of Police, Mohamed Adamo, who was involved in the Zaria massacre, as well as the order to disperse the recent protests with live bullets,” the English-language news agency Al-Tali’a said in a report followed by Shiawaves, pointing out that “With the intervention of the International Court, Nigerians do not believe in the ability of these efforts to achieve justice.”
The chief prosecutor of the court, Fatou Bensouda, explained that her office was monitoring events in Nigeria, and this investigation will determine whether those accused of crimes against humanity have a case to answer, stressing the importance of the International Criminal Court’s intervention in this matter.
It is noteworthy that the International Criminal Court will also consider the extrajudicial killing of 150 people of unarmed demonstrators throughout the southeast between 2015 and 2016, as documented by Amnesty International.
