According to media reports, unknown persons placed posters containing racist and anti-Islam expressions on a street lamp in front of a mosque in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
A statement issued by the Islamic Union stated that the posters contained obscene expressions against Muslims such as “Germany is for Germans” and “Let the Foreigners Leave.”
The head of the mosque, Ali Ipekcioglu, pointed out that “the mosque was built 35 years ago and has not been subjected to any such attack,” indicating that “the worshipers noticed the posters while leaving the Friday prayer, and reported it to the police immediately.”
The police have launched an investigation to track the perpetrators.
In recent years, Germany has witnessed an escalation of Islamophobia due to the propaganda of the extreme right-wing movements and parties in the country.
