Over 13,000 arrested in Saudi Arabia for residency and labor violations

Saudi authorities arrested 13,118 individuals in one week for breaching residency, labor, and border regulations, Saudi-based Arab News reported on Saturday. According to the report, 8,150 were held for residency violations, 3,344 for illegal border crossings, and 1,624 for labor-related offenses.

The Ministry of Interior warned that aiding illegal entry into the Kingdom—such as by providing transport or shelter—can lead to up to 15 years in prison, fines of up to SR1 million ($267,000), and confiscation of property.
