Bradford mosque launches cleanup initiative promote community and environmental awareness

JTI Mosque in Southfield Square, Bradford, has launched a monthly volunteer cleanup initiative to promote environmental awareness and community service. Around 15 volunteers of all ages, from children to seniors, took part in the first campaign, which focused on the Manningham area surrounding the mosque.

According to the Telegraph & Argus, the initiative aims to show the mosque’s commitment to the local community beyond its spiritual role. Mosque director Sheikh Syed Ahsan emphasized that mosques should actively contribute to society, highlighting efforts like the community food fridge and cleanup drives.

Organizers announced the cleanup will take place on the first Saturday of each month and invited residents of all backgrounds to participate. Locals praised the initiative for fostering a sense of responsibility and encouraging younger generations to value cleanliness and civic engagement.
