Freemuslim Association releases message on World Press Freedom Day

On World Press Freedom Day—observed on May 3rd—the Freemuslim Association (a global nonviolence organization) released a message, saluting independent journalists around the globe, expressing solidarity and support for their humanitarian mission and just cause to amplify the voices of the oppressed worldwide.
The organization condemned the ongoing targeting of journalists, particularly in conflict zones, denouncing efforts to restrict their work and undermine their essential role in promoting truth and justice.
It drew attention to the killing of over 200 journalists during the recent war on Gaza, describing the attacks as blatant and brutal acts by Israel and a clear violation of international laws and humanitarian norms that prohibit targeting media professionals.
The Freemuslim Association stressed the urgent need for the international community to stand by journalists, facilitate their work, protect their freedoms, and shield them from political exploitation or dangerous agendas.
