Shia in Madagascar celebrate 10th anniversary of first Shirazi-affiliated center in Majunga

The Shia followers of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) in the city of Majunga, Republic of Madagascar, celebrated the 10th anniversary of the founding of the first Shirazi-affiliated center in the country — the Ahlulbayt Center. This center is recognized as the first Shirazi center established in Madagascar.
The celebration witnessed a notable turnout. Hujjatul-Islam Sheikh Muhammad Rida Wasram, representative of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi and director of the center in Majunga, explained that the program included several religious and cultural activities.
The event began with recitations from the Holy Quran, followed by religious poems expressing love for the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), and the well-known Hadith al-Kisa was also recited.
One of the key highlights was a competition in memorizing Ziyarat Arbaeen, with participation from youth, young adults, and children enrolled at the Ahlulbayt Center. Five participants were announced as winners out of 22 contestants.
The program also featured theatrical performances that highlighted the noble Islamic values and principles of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), in addition to distributing gifts to winners and participants.
It is worth noting that Shirazi centers in Madagascar are actively engaged in cultural work targeting various segments of society, especially Shia followers. These centers place a strong emphasis on youth development, following the guidance of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi.
