Afghan migrants in Pakistan forced to sell belongings amid deportation fears

For many Afghan migrants in Pakistan, their belongings are now worth only a fraction of their original value. As deportation fears grow, families are being forced to auction off their household items at deeply reduced prices, unsure of what the future holds.

In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, where authorities have intensified efforts to expel Afghan nationals, many migrants are struggling to cope with financial losses. Some, despite holding valid visas, are still under pressure to leave.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has granted Afghan refugees with valid visas and relocation cases until the end of March to remain in Pakistan. After that, authorities are expected to begin widespread arrests and deportations, leaving many Afghan migrants uncertain about their future.
