Earth to witness “Blood Moon” phenomenon on night of mid-Ramadan

Earth will witness a total lunar eclipse on March 14, 2025, coinciding with the night of mid-Ramadan, according to Tunisia’s National Institute of Meteorology.

The institute explained that while the eclipse will not be fully visible, its initial phases can be observed before sunrise. According to astronomical maps, the total eclipse will be clearly visible across large parts of South America, the Atlantic Ocean, and parts of Africa.

Meanwhile, observers in North Africa, Europe, and the Middle East will only be able to see the early stages before the moon sets.

During the total eclipse, the moon will turn deep red due to the scattering of sunlight through Earth’s atmosphere—a phenomenon known as the “Blood Moon.” This rare event is expected to attract skywatchers and astronomy enthusiasts worldwide.
