AI-driven LASIK surgery enhances vision correction precision

The Indian Centre for Sight (CFS) has introduced the AMARIS 1050RS LASIK laser system, powered by Foresight software, enabling vision correction in under ten seconds per eye. The advanced technology offers enhanced precision, real-time eye tracking, and quicker recovery, making it a significant leap in refractive surgery.
Dr. Mahipal S. Sachdev, Chairman and Medical Director of CFS, highlighted that the system tracks eye movements 1050 times per second, ensuring unmatched accuracy. It allows surgeons to predict post-operative corneal shape before surgery, leading to greater treatment precision. The procedure, performed using only anesthetic eye drops, can correct all refractive errors, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
Beyond standard LASIK, CFS is also utilizing Foresight-driven solutions TREK and TCAT to treat keratoconus, a corneal disorder. TREK enables simultaneous removal of epithelium and stroma, optimizing corneal reshaping while preserving tissue.
TCAT uses detailed corneal mapping for precise correction of irregular corneas, reducing dependency on specialized contact lenses. Dominic von Planta, CEO of Schwind Eye-Tech Solutions, noted that the 7D eye-tracking system in AMARIS 1050 ensures safe, fast, and personalized treatment, tailored to each patient’s unique eye structure.
