FreeMuslim Association reiterates demands for combating all forms of extremism

As the international community observes the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism as and when Conducive to Terrorism (PVE day)—marked on February 12th—the FreeMuslim Association, and international rights group, issued a statement expressing solidarity with this global occasion.

In its message received by Shia Waves Agency, the organization highlighted the importance of activating international efforts to confront the growing extremism in Syria following the collapse of the previous regime. It noted that some factions currently in power in the country are characterized by extremist practices that threaten societal peace.

FreeMuslim confirmed that human rights reports have documented violent violations indicative of intellectual and religious extremism against sectarian minorities and Christians, posing a serious threat to security and stability.

The right group called on the international community to exert effective pressure on the new Syrian authorities to curb these extremist practices and spare the country the risks of terrorism and social disintegration.
