McGill University architecture students visit Lebanese Islamic Center in Montreal

As part of the Muslim Awareness Week activities, McGill University architecture students visited the Lebanese Islamic Center in Montreal to learn about Islamic design, CBC News reported.

According to the organizers, the visit showcased calligraphy and geometry in an effort to build bridges between members of the Muslim community and other Quebecers.

Jawad Kanani, Muslim Awareness Week board member, highlighted the impact of Islamic architecture on people, especially newly immigrants, as it helps them feel as if back home.

Participating students expressed their admiration for the Islamic architecture and extended their thanks to the organizers for this initiative to explore Islamic heritage and to get to know the followers of this religion.
