Google aims to influence AI policies with education initiatives

Google is ramping up efforts to shape public perception and global policies on artificial intelligence as regulatory frameworks for the technology emerge.

According to Reuters, the tech giant is prioritizing educational programs to equip the workforce with AI skills. Kent Walker, Alphabet’s president of global affairs, highlighted the benefits of familiarizing more individuals and organizations with AI, stating, “It creates better policies and unlocks new opportunities – it’s a virtuous cycle.”

Amid growing concerns about AI-driven job losses, Google executives are focusing on promoting the positive potential of the technology. In September, CEO Sundar Pichai announced a $120 million fund dedicated to developing AI education initiatives.
