Wadsworth Museum showcases Islamic art in ‘Sacred Geometry’ exhibit
The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum in Hartford, Connecticut, is hosting the “Sacred Geometry” exhibition from December 8 to 10, featuring over 1,000 years of Islamic art history.
According to the organizers, highlights include rare manuscripts, Ottoman ceramics, Persian glassware, and modern digital installations.
Curator Sarah Johnson emphasized the richness of floral motifs, geometric arabesques, and Arabic calligraphy. Local artisans, including renowned calligrapher Hassan Mousa, are participating to showcase the living traditions of Islamic art.
The exhibition serves as a precursor to a permanent Islamic art space planned for 2026, developed in collaboration with the local Muslim community to foster cultural appreciation.
