Malaysia advocates integrating Islamic values with artificial intelligence
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of combining Islamic values with artificial intelligence (AI) and modern sciences to equip Muslim youth with a balanced education merging religious principles and technical skills.
Speaking at Egypt’s Al-Azhar University, Ibrahim highlighted the need for ethical AI guided by Islamic teachings, outlining Malaysia’s efforts to support students in integrating religious studies with scientific disciplines like medicine and engineering, aiming to develop a generation capable of addressing future challenges.
The Malaysian PM also announced the restoration of government funding for religious schools, which had been halted since 2003, reinforcing the role of religious education in fostering social cohesion, stressing that merging Islamic principles with technology is essential for sustainable progress.
