In wake of war in Middle East, demand for Holy Quran doubles in Chicago, USA

The Furqan Foundation for printing the Holy Quran in Chicago, the third-largest city in the United States, revealed a sharp increase in the number of people seeking to obtain a copy of the Holy Quran and converting to Islam in recent months, influenced by the ongoing war in the Middle East.

In a statement, Ahmed Abu Heba, the foundation’s director, said: “Since the beginning of October 2023, requests for distributing the Holy Quran have increased tenfold compared to previous years,” adding that “in November 2022, the distribution requests ranged between 300 and 400 copies per month, whereas in November 2023, we received 600 requests, and since then, the number has significantly multiplied, reaching tens of thousands during the month of Ramadan.”

Abu Heba pointed out that this surge in demand coincides with a large number of Americans converting to Islam, attributing this to their desire to learn more about Islam after the recent events in the Middle East. It is worth mentioning that the Furqan Foundation for printing the Holy Quran has been operating for 20 years in Chicago, distributing the Quran with English and Spanish translations.
