The new school year officially began this Sunday morning, as schools across all provinces of Iraq welcomed students for the first day of classes.
At exactly 8:00 AM today, the bells of more than 30,000 schools across Iraq rang, signaling the beginning of the new academic year.
Officials said that “millions of pupils and students across all provinces of Iraq have returned to their schools as the 2024-2025 school year commences.”
The Ministry of Education had previously announced that the new school year would begin on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Last year, more than 13 million students enrolled at schools throughout Iraq.
