Freemuslim Association releases message on International Day of Charity

The Freemuslim Association, an international anti-violence organization, has released a message on the International Day of Charity, urging the Islamic nations to strengthen and promote this humanitarian principle, which aligns with divine teachings and social customs.

In its message, received by Shia Waves Agency, the organization emphasized that Islamic nations are obligated to spread the culture of charity, as it is an integral part of Islamic law, the prophetic tradition, and the teachings of the Imams of guidance, peace be upon them.

The association pointed out that charity work is a necessary means for the prosperity of the nation and serves as a fundamental pillar in strengthening its social, economic, and political foundations.

It explained that volunteerism and philanthropy provide an opportunity to strengthen social bonds and create more inclusive and resilient communities, highlighting that charity plays a significant role in mitigating the harm caused by humanitarian crises, while also supporting public services such as healthcare, education, housing, and child protection.

In its message, the organization proposed that official institutions and grassroots organizations adopt initiatives to establish youth volunteer teams for charity work, aimed at providing material and moral assistance to those in need, including the sick and impoverished.

The Freemuslim Association also called for expanding the scope of charity work to include various Islamic nations by organizing charitable activities to support the poor and afflicted, in accordance with the saying of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family: “The believers are brothers, and nothing is more beloved to each brother than his fellow brother”.
