Timing of blood pressure medication does not impact outcomes, new research finds
Researchers from the University of British Columbia, Canada, have found that there is no significant difference in the effectiveness of taking blood pressure medication in the morning or evening.
The study’s findings, presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2024, involving nearly 47,000 patients, concluded that the timing of when these medications are taken does not impact outcomes such as heart attacks, strokes, or heart failure.
The study confirmed that the key takeaway is that patients should take their blood pressure medication at a time that best fits their routine to ensure consistency.
