Freemuslim Association deplores France’s decision to ban hijab during Paris Olympics

The Freemuslim Association, an anti-violence organization, has strongly condemned the decision by the French Minister of Sports to ban the wearing of the hijab by French athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics, stating that this discriminatory measure represents a blatant violation of internationally guaranteed freedoms.

In a statement obtained by Shia Waves Agency, the organization expressed its deep dismay over the this decision, describing it as an unacceptable racist behavior and a significant disregard for the sentiments of Muslims residing both inside and outside France.

The Freemuslim Association called on the French authorities to review and repeal this arbitrary decision, emphasizing that this decision harms the principles of freedom and equality that France claims to uphold and reinforces discrimination against Muslim women.

The peace group urged the international community and human rights organizations to oppose this decision and pressure the French government to reverse it, asserting that religious freedom is a fundamental right that must be protected everywhere and at all times.
