Iraqi security forces and specialized teams continue their efforts to recover the bodies of more than 100 individuals executed by ISIS, and were buried in a mass grave in the Saqlawiyah district near Fallujah in Anbar province.
This mass grave was discovered following information obtained by the National Security Service during the interrogation of a recently captured ISIS leader known as “Abu Hiba.”
A security source reported on Saturday, the discovery of a mass grave in Saqlawiyah, in the Abu Sidira area (Reconciliation Cemetery), confirming that the search and extraction of bodies by security forces and specialized teams are ongoing.
According to a security source, “the number of bodies expected to be found in this grave exceeds 100, all of whom were executed by ISIS during their control over western regions of the country.”
ISIS left behind dozens of mass graves in the areas they controlled, where they executed thousands of innocent people and buried them in these graves. These graves highlight the scale of atrocities committed by the terrorist organization and underscore the need to continue efforts to uncover the truth and achieve justice for terrorism victims in Iraq.
