Shia community in West Bengal commemorates day of Imam Hussein’s infant son, Abdullah Al-Radhi
Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in West Bengal, India, commemorated the sorrowful martyrdom of Imam Hussein’s infant son, Abdullah Al-Radhi, recalling the injustice Imam Hussein and his family endured.
Mourners gathered in the city for a special assembly to commemorate the day of Abdullah Al-Radhi’s martyrdom, peace be upon him. They carried their children dressed in green clothes, shedding tears and beating their chests in sympathy with the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him.
Shia Waves Agency obtained photos documenting the large gathering organized by the Shia community in West Bengal to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein’s youngest son, Abdullah Al-Radhi (peace be upon them), who was slaughtered by enemies in the tragic event of Karbala.
Shia Muslims in Iraq and other world countries customarily dedicate one of the first ten days of the holy month of Muharram to remember the injustice faced by this oppressed infant, who was slaughtered by arrows instead of given water by the Umayyad army in the desert of Karbala, in one of the most tragic humanitarian events in human history.
