An Iraqi army officer and three soldiers were martyred with four others injured on Saturday during clashes with ISIS-linked terrorists in the Bsatine al-Ait area in Diyala province, local media outlets reported.
According to the Joint Operations Command, the security units surrounded a group of terrorists in the area and managed to kill several and injure others after fierce clashes.
ISIS was defeated in Iraq in 2017 by Iraqi forces, however; remnants of the organization continue to carry out attacks and set up ambushes, particularly in remote areas and desert hideouts.
