The local government in Holy Karbala has announced that a piece of land measuring 1,000 dunams (100 hectares) has been designated for constructing the largest industrial city in the province, aiming to create thousands of job opportunities and boost economic growth in the region.
The Governor of Holy Karbala, Engineer Nassif Jassem Al-Khattabi, stated in a press release followed by Shia Waves Agency that the local government is holding intensive meetings with the President of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Adel Aqab, to lay the foundation for this major industrial city.
For his part, the President of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Adel Aqab, explained that Holy Karbala is one of the most important and active cities, making it an ideal location for establishing major industrial projects.
He noted that the federation has agreed with the local government to support the proposed motion for granting land ownership to current occupiers and providing the necessary infrastructure for industrial areas, adding that the projects planned to be established will model projects at the national level, given the city’s significant religious and cultural heritage
According economists and experts, this project will strengthen the status of Holy Karbala as a major economic and industrial center in Iraq, contributing to sustainable economic growth that will benefit the province’s residents, visitors, and the region as a whole.
