Iraq’s military intelligence recently uncovered and seized an extensive tunnel used by the Daesh militant group, as reported by the Iraq News Agency late Saturday.
The tunnel stretched over 500 meters from Tal Afar district and similarly from Al-Ayadiya district in western Nineveh.
Daesh utilized the tunnel for secretive movement, as well as for storing and transporting weapons, ammunition, supplies, and other materials.
Engineering units were sent to clear out the materials, destroy them on-site, and demolish the tunnel.
