In a provocative incident, extremists burn copies of Holy Quran in Sweden

Sweden witnessed a controversial and provocative incident during the blessed month of Ramadan, where activists “Slawan Najm” and “Jed Sandberg” staged a provocative display in front of the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm, where they burned a copy of the Holy Quran.

The footage of the provocative incident spread widely, showing the activists carrying loudspeakers and wearing religious attire, which increased the shock and outrage of viewers who considered the incident an extremist escalation carrying a tone of hatred and racism towards Islam and Muslims.

A Muslim woman emotionally reacted to the incident, protesting in front of the police present at the scene, expressing her dismay and condemnation of this provocative act.

This is not the first incident of its kind to occur in the Swedish Parliament, as Iraqi immigrant “Slawan Momika” had previously engaged in similar acts, setting fire to copies of the Noble Quran in front of the Swedish Parliament, sparking widespread debate in the country.

It is worth noting that many entities within and outside Sweden condemn these controversial acts, considering them a violation of freedom of belief and an incitement to religious discrimination and hatred, and calling for categorical measures against those who provoke discord and incite hatred and religious discrimination.
