Shia Endowment Board meets to discuss establishment of “World Quran Day”

The Shia Endowment Board, a religious authority in Iraq, held its sixth meeting to discuss the establishment of a World Quran Day.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the holy shrines in Iraq, the Grand Mosque of Kufa, and other social and academic figures.

The meeting discussed the importance of establishing a World Quran Day to raise awareness of the Quran and its significance.

The participants suggested that the 27th of Rajab, which marks al-Mabeth al-Nabawi, be designated as the World Quran Day.

The meeting also discussed the need to expand Quranic activities in all centers and institutions concerned with the Quran, emphasizing that the holy shrines should play a leading role in highlighting the World Quran Day.

The Shia Endowment Board is expected to submit a proposal to the Iraqi government to establish a World Quran Day.
