Indonesia Secures 300 Hotels for 2025 Hajj Pilgrims

Indonesia has finalized accommodation arrangements for over 200,000 regular Hajj pilgrims during the 2025 season, securing 300 hotels across Mecca (205) and Medina (95), Iqna reported. Muchlis M. Hanafi, Director of Overseas Hajj Services, confirmed the preparations during a virtual briefing from Jakarta on Sunday.

All Mecca hotels lie within 4.5 km of Al-Haram Mosque, with shuttle services provided for transport. Medina accommodations are concentrated in Markaziyah district near the Prophet’s Mosque. Hanafi advised pilgrims to maximize prayer time at the mosque to reduce hotel congestion and emphasized carrying identification cards when leaving lodgings.

“Readiness of all services for Indonesian pilgrims has reached 100%,” Hanafi stated, detailing comprehensive support including meals, transportation, and logistics – particularly during peak pilgrimage days. The annual Hajj, drawing millions worldwide, sees Indonesia as the top contributor due to its Muslim-majority population.

Preparations prioritize proximity to holy sites and streamlined mobility, reflecting Indonesia’s large-scale logistical coordination for the pilgrimage.
