18 people die during local elections in India

During the bloody clashes in an Indian municipal election, 18 people died and dozens of others were injured.


According to Hindustan Times, this conflict took place on Saturday, July 8, in the state of West Bengal, which has a population of 104 million people.

The reports confirm that 10 people from the ruling Trinamool Congress party, three people from the Bharatiya Janata Party, three people from the Congress Party and two people from the Communist Party have died in these clashes.


In this election, voters selected members of municipal councils from among two hundred thousand candidates.
