India: Shia Muslims sign petition demanding reconstructing Baqi Cemetery in Saudi Arabia
Indian Shia followers of AhlulBayet, peace be upon them, have signed a petition demanding the reconstruction of the Baqi Cemetery in Saudi Arabia, where the Infallible Imams, peace be upon them, are buried.
The correspondent of Shia Waves Agency in India has collected news indicating that, on the sidelines of a religious ceremony, a group of Indian Shias signed a petition and demanded the restoration of the shrine of the Pure Imams (peace be upon them) in the Baqi cemetery.
One of the attendees at this event, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen, Shaykh Adib Handi, the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Sadiq Shirazi, said: “On the sidelines of this glorious event, Shias and the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, signed a petition with the aim of requesting the restoration of the Shrine of the Imams in Baqi Cemetery located in the city of Madinah.”
Shaykh al-Handi added: “This petition, bearing hundreds of signatures, was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office as well as the President of India to encourage diplomatic pressure against Saudi government, forcing them to rebuild Baqi.”
