Proposal to convert mosques in India into hospitals for treating Coronavirus patients


Shia cleric and imam of Zuma Mosque in India, Syed Jawad Naqvi, proposed that all mosques in the country be converted into hospitals to treat Coronavirus patients.
Media outlets followed by Shia Waves reported that, “The Shia cleric, Maulana Syed Jawad Naqvi, offered to convert the famous Imambara building in Lucknow and all other buildings of the Husseinabad Fund and mosques, into temporary hospitals to save the lives of coronavirus patients.”
The media quoted Jawad as saying, “The time has come for all Islamic organizations in the country to give everything they have to save the lives of people, in light of the country being exposed to a second wave of a virus.”
He added, “All large mosques must be converted into hospitals to treat patients and save their lives,” calling on the district judge to use the mosques to accommodate coronavirus patients for treatment.
