India: Shia Muslims express sadness for not being able to commemorate Arbaeen Pilgrimage in Holy Karbala
Shia Muslims in the Indian city of Hyderabad expressed their great sadness on the anniversary of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), while expressing greater sorrow for not being able to commemorate it in the holy city of Karbala.
A group of mourners, while attending the mourning procession that was held yesterday, Saturday said: “The most important thing we dream about during our lifetime is to visit the pure shrines of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and to offer our condolences within these holy shrines.”
They added that thousands of Shias were supposed to travel from Hyderabad to attend the Arbaeen ceremony of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in holy Karbala, and to share with the millions of pilgrims the honor and reward of this holy pilgrimage, but the economic conditions and the disruption of travel visas prevented this.
The Shia citizens demanded that their country’s government “facilitate travel to visit the holy shrines in Iraq”.
Although they were unable to reach the Holy Shrine, the Hyderabad Shias were keen to revive it in great abundance, through the mourning procession in which thousands of men, women and children participated.
The mourners marched, according to what was reported by media outlets, followed by Shia Waves News Agency to distant areas from the city center, which started from the (Moula Ali) area and reached its climax in the city of Dadan Shah yesterday evening, and lasted for more than 7 hours.
The media reported that “this massive march is part of the Arbaeen in which millions of pilgrims from different countries of the world participate in the holy city of Karbala, in remembrance of the sacrifices of the Imam, the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him).”
